All Of My Heart

T-shirt - River Island / Skirt - H&M / Bracelets - Topshop & Wired Jewellery

I can't seem to shake my affinity for pink & black clothes right now. I think its probably because pink is one of the few bright colours that I'm comfortable with wearing. Plus it goes so well with my hair haha. To be completely honest I'm getting a bit bored of the pink now! I think I might go back to blonde or just have a bit of pink ombre at the ends instead. I used to change my hair colour all the time but I'm pretty happy just being blonde. I'd been lusting after this t-shirt in River Island for months. I just love the huge bow! It was a good job I held off buying it because a few weeks ago it was reduced to £7 in their sale. I still really love my pleated leather skirt from H&M. Everyone should own one. I'm trying to wear it as much as possible now because I know I won't wear it at all once its Summer!

I've started back on Jenny Craig this week. I had quite a bit of a break inbetween my hampers because they only just got round to sending me my second one. I really missed having the food, especially the apple & cinnamon porridge which I'm having for breakfast every day. This time round I got to choose all my meals rather than them sending me a bit of everything and I'm finding I don't have the urge the snack this time. Maybe its because I know I enjoy all of the food I was sent. I asked for soup everyday too as I wasn't a huge fan of the potato or pasta pots. I must admit I have been a bit naughty today because I actually decided to make some slutty brownies! They are pretty much diet suicide but I've been desperate to make some for ages. I only had a tiny bit because they are so so sickly! At least I have another weeks worth of meals ready so I won't be straying too far from the diet. I'm also planning to start the 30 day shred on Monday because even though I've lost weight I still feel unfit. Hopefully I'll manage to get further than day 14 this time!

Sorry its taken me a while but its finally time to announce the results of my 1000 followers giveaway! I put all the entries into a list and used random.org to generate the two winners. Congratulations to... Amey Jane & Natasha! I'll be in touch very soon :)

Jenny Craig Week Two

Chocolate coated & wholewheat flakes / Tangy tomato soup & grated cheddar cheese / Creamy chicken fricassee / Thick vegetable & green lentil dahl with sweet potato & butternut squash / Chilli con carne

These are some of the things I've eaten during my second week on the Jenny Craig diet food delivery service. For me the standout meal was definitely the thick vegetable & green lentil dahl. It was packed with flavour & really filled me up. I added a steam bag of sweet potato & butternut squash to my meal and they went so well together. I find that I often pick vegetarian items even though I do eat meat, vegetables seem to satisfy my hunger pangs a lot more. Thats one of the things that I've liked the most about Jenny Craig. Theres a strong emphasis on filling up with vegetables & fruit rather than on carbs which is what I tended to do in the past. I did end up cheating a little bit because there was cake & ice cream in the house which was far too tempting. Despite my sweet treats I managed to lose another pound this week bringing my total weight loss to 3lbs in two weeks. I think thats really brilliant & it shows how much its possible to lose if you have a good diet structure in place.

From doing this two week trial I feel that I've learned a lot about the Jenny Craig style of dieting & nutrition in general. I understand the concept of volumetrics & that its possible to fill yourself up with healthy things if you eat a large amount of them. I try not to deny myself if I do fancy some chocolate or cake but I do limit the amount so that it won't have a counteractive effect on the rest of the healthy food I'm eating. My consultant Anna has been really helpful in getting me to understand the eating patterns that I fall into. She has provided me with explanations & answers as to how I can live my life whilst losing weight. One of the main problems I had was with portion size. I often had the same amount of food for dinner as my boyfriend, who is one of those annoying people who goes to several fast food restaurants in one day and still doesn't gain weight. By having a smaller portion for the 'main' part of the meal and filling the rest of my plate with veggies, I feel fuller despite having eaten less calories.

Jenny Craig is a great programme to follow because it gives you that exact balance of food without any effort. Its been really nice to not have to think about what I'm going to eat each day because its all already prepared & written down for me. I would prefer to be able to eat exactly what I fancy each day but this diet takes out the guess work and stops you from having to worry about how many calories are in everything you eat. The convenience of having your food delivered is brilliant for people like me who don't have a car & its saved me from taking a million trips to the supermarket every week. Once you've stocked up on fruit, veggies & low-fat yoghurts, you're pretty much good to go. The phone calls with my consultant each week are a great way to reflect on the things you've eaten over the past week & get motivated for the next week. They can help you plan for meals out & teach you how to manage your diet once you've reached your goal weight. Its good to hear an educated insight into nutrition & I have found these to be a brilliant help each week.

I've had a few days off the diet now and I've found that its already helped to instill some good eating habits in me. I've been having porridge, yoghurt & fruit for breakfast and I find that this fills me up a lot more than the pieces of toast I used to go for. I've also added tons more fruit & veg into my diet which has really increased my energy levels. I've really enjoyed following the programme so I was thrilled when I was contacted to see if I wanted to carry on with the diet. So hopefully I'll be receiving another hamper of food soon. Jenny Craig has really helped me with some of my diet demons so I'm glad to have found a diet programme that agrees with my lifestyle & eating habits. I'm looking forward to see how much more weight I can lose & if I can get to my lowest weight ever.

Jenny Craig Week One

As I previously mentioned I've been doing a two week trial of the Jenny Craig diet. If you've never heard of Jenny Craig before, they are essentially a diet food delivery service. They send you a huge hamper filled with breakfasts, lunches, dinners & snacks that are all super healthy. When you sign up to the programme you receive an initial phone call to set up the service for you. You tell the consultant your height, weight & activity level as well as how much you want to lose. You can also tailor the programme so that you don't receive any food you dislike or would be allergic to. What I think makes Jenny Craig stand out from some of the other diet food delivery services is that each week you receive a phone call from your personal consultant. They keep a record of your weight & measurements, discuss the programme with you & help you plan for meals out.

As well as the food, you get sent a binder filled with lots of information about the plan and worksheets to help with your healthy eating habits, exercise & mindset. It also comes with some set menus so you know exactly what to eat on a certain day. Each day is perfectly balanced so that you get the right amount of protein, fats & carbs. Heres the kind of thing I've been eating in an average day.

Jenny Craig breakfasts are really nice & give me a great burst of energy to start the day with. I was sent a mixture of muesli, porridge & Special K style cereal. This is apple & cinnamon porridge which is simply made by just adding 125ml of boiling water. I found it really delicious. I've just added a blood orange, a Muller Light yoghurt & a huge mug of Dr Stuart's Detox tea.

Lunches tend to be pasta pots, mash potato pots or soups. This is pasta with cream sauce. With most of the meals you're sent from Jenny Craig you have to add some of your own food. At lunch time you always have to add at least one cup of salad. You get sent this small plastic measuring cup and whatever you can fit in there is equal to half a cup. Its really handy for measuring things like cheese to make sure you're not adding too many calories. I like to pile up my plate with salad because I find the lunches to be the least filling of all the meals. I dress my salad with a few sprays of this balsamic dressing. It adds some flavour to the vegetables without the huge amount of calories & the spray pump stops me from completely drowning the salad. The Jenny Craig soups & pasta pots are really nice but I wasn't too keen on the mash pots. Its basically a pot of instant mash with some dried peas & carrots, some of which didn't rehydrate properly meaning I had to eat crunchy peas, eww. Even after adding some cheese, they still tasted pretty rank.

In the afternoon you have a Jenny Craig snack. These include cereal bars, chocolate bars & crisps. I adore the potato bites. They taste really good, especially the Thai chilli flavour. Theres also something called 'free foods' which you can eat all day long if you so wish. Its mainly things like vegetables but you can easily add in a few more snack meals of things like crudités & salsa dip or ratatouille. That way you'll never go hungry whilst still sticking to the diet. I found that I was starting to struggle in the mid afternoon because even after eating one of the packs of crisps I was still hungry & thats when I would cheat with a couple of biscuits or pieces of chocolate. Luckily my consultant suggested that I should fill up on free foods during this time & I've managed to stick to it properly since then.

Dinners have the most variety to them. I've had things like curries, chilli, chicken provencal, beef tortellini & casseroles. This meal was chicken & mash with gravy. I'm so impressed with all the chicken meals, they're full of huge tender chunks of meat. I really enjoyed this one & the chicken provencal. The chicken tikka & rice was lovely too but I'm starting to a bit fed up of curry after having it three times in one week! You have to add at least one cup of cooked vegetables to all of the dinners. I buy those Sainsbury's value bags of carrots & broccoli for 75p because you can just pop them in the microwave & you get a huge portion of veg. The dinners are really filling & taste great.

I did a weigh in on Wednesday morning before having my second consultation and I've lost 2lbs in one week! Thats pretty good for me because I've definitely struggled with getting a loss as I get closer to my target weight. I wasn't really sure if I was following the diet correctly as it seemed like I was constantly eating but it does seem to be working. I've not done a huge amount of exercise but I do walk everywhere whilst pushing a toddler in a huge pram thats normally loaded with shopping bags. I'm really enjoying the diet so far and its obviously working if I've lost 2lbs in a week with literally no effort. It has helped me to learn a lot about my eating habits & how to balance my meals better. I've still got a few more days left so hopefully I can lose two more pounds in that time. I'll be posting a full review of the Jenny Craig diet next week.

If you're interested in joining Jenny Craig they currently have a special offer on where you can get a 50% discount on a two week programme, which works out at just £38.50 a week/£5.50 a day for all your food and consultations. I think thats a great bargain because I can easily spend that on just my lunch every day. You can find out more by calling 0800 088 2048.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Top - Topshop / Skirt - H&M / Necklace - Topshop / Bracelet - Girlprops / Rings - Urban Outfitters

I am a little bit obsessed with leather skirts right now. I bought both the skater & pleated style ones from H&M at the beginning of the year and I find myself wearing them constantly. I think they're both really versatile and add a cool edge to an outfit. Today I've paired the skater style one with this stripey top from Topshop. I saw one of the sales assistants in the Manchester Arndale store wearing this last month & have wanted it ever since. I definitely look a bit Beetlejuicy, especially with my white blonde hair. Hopefully I look a bit more put together than him though haha!

My boyfriend had a week off work recently and we spent most of it eating. Think we went through about 4 packs of steak! Needless to say my face looks a bit pudgy. I actually put on 4lbs in one week! Last week I was very luckily contacted by Jenny Craig who offered to send me a 14 day trial of their programme. I jumped at the chance and after speaking with my consultant on Wednesday I did my first day of the diet yesterday. It all seems really easy so far and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is delicious. Yesterday I had chocolate cereal for breakfast, chorizo & bean soup for lunch, then chicken tikka for dinner. Heres hoping that the rest of the meals are just as good & that I manage to shift the weight I put on by doing it! I'll let you know how I get on.

The lipstick I'm wearing is one of the Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colours. This neon pink colour is called Crush. I love the formula of these as they're really long lasting and glossy without being sticky. This colour is just so bright, I couldn't resist it. Its fairly warm toned compared to most neon colours so I'd liken it to an even brighter version of MAC Impassioned. On another note I'm totally loving my foundation today. I bought the Barry M white foundation creme yesterday and mixed it with my Estee Lauder Double Wear in Shell. Hello perfect colour match! Totally recommend it if your foundation is a bit dark for you. Huge thanks to Amy for the awesome tip!
